  • What is the scope of 3D Printing Services, and How can they benefit businesses ?
3D printing services encompass the creation of three-dimensional objects from digital designs using additive manufacturing techniques. These services offer numerous benefits to businesses: Prototyping: Ideas can be transformed into physical prototypes quickly, aiding in design refinement. Customization: Tailor products to individual needs, enhancing customer satisfaction. Cost-Efficiency: Reduced material wastage and efficient production lower costs. Complex Designs: 3D printing allows intricate designs that traditional methods struggle with. Speed-to-Market Accelerate product development and launch timelines.
  • How do 3D printing services ensure the quality of printed objects?
Quality in 3D printing services is ensured through: Advanced Materials: Using high-quality printing materials suitable for the specific application. Precision Printers: Utilizing cutting-edge 3D printers capable of fine details and accuracy. Layer Consistency: Ensuring consistent layer adhesion for structural integrity. Testing & Validation: Conducting thorough testing and validation of prototypes.
  • How much does it cost to 3D print?
The cost of 3D printing can vary significantly based on several factors, including the type of printer, material used, and the complexity of the print. However, here are a few generic estimates: Material Cost: Filament (e.g., PLA, ABS): ₹500 - ₹2,000 per kilogram Resin (for SLA/DLP printers): ₹2,000 - ₹6,000 per liter Printing Costs: Home Printing: Small Objects: ₹50 - ₹200 per print Medium Objects: ₹200 - ₹1,000 per print Large Objects: ₹1,000 - ₹5,000 per print Professional Services: Small Objects: ₹300 - ₹1,500 per print Medium Objects: ₹1,500 - ₹5,000 per print Large Objects: ₹5,000 - ₹20,000 per print Printer Cost: Entry-Level 3D Printers: ₹20,000 - ₹50,000 Mid-Range Printers: ₹50,000 - ₹1,00,000 High-End Printers: ₹1,00,000 - ₹5,00,000+ Post-Processing: Basic Finishing (e.g., sanding, painting): ₹500 - ₹2,000 Advanced Finishing (e.g., metal plating, special coatings): ₹2,000 - ₹10,000+ These are rough estimates and actual costs can vary based on specific requirements, print quality, and location.
  • I don't have a 3D cad model, can you help me?
Yes, we have an in-house Blue Light 3D scanner and using that we can 3D Scan it and develop a 3D cad model, later which it can be 3D printed. However, CAD modelling fee is applicable depending on the complexity of the part.
  • What file format do you accept?
We accept STL, STEP, IGES & XT formats. STL files are the primary 3d printing file format so that is always the best & default format.
  • How many iterations of prototypes do you usually go through in your product design process?
We use low, mid and high fidelity prototype iterations throughout our product design process. First, we begin with low-fidelity prototypes and test them with potential users. The results from these sessions helps us revise prototype when we take it to higher fidelities. We always use testing to help guide the revisions of each of my prototypes.
  • Which industries use it and how?
Institutes of Education Every day, more schools in Chennai are incorporating 3D printing into their curriculum. The benefits of using 3D printing in education include the ability to create prototypes without expensive tooling, which helps students better prepare for future careers. By designing and constructing models that they can physically interact with, students gain hands-on experience with the online capabilities of 3D printing. Manufacturing and Prototyping 3D printing significantly reduces the lead times typically associated with traditional manufacturing, allowing prototypes to be produced in a matter of hours rather than weeks, and at a much lower cost. Medicine In recent years, there have been numerous applications of online 3D printing in the medical field. Examples include bioprinting, which involves combining biomaterials such as cells and growth factors to create tissue-like structures that replicate natural ones, and the production of medical devices like prosthetics. Engineering 3D printing is being used in construction to provide a variety of technologies that use this method as the main approach for creating building components or entire structures. Art and Jewellery The fields of art and jewellery design in Chennai have embraced 3D printing in surprising ways. 3D printers allow jewellery designers to explore creative concepts that would be difficult or impossible to realize with traditional methods. Using materials such as PLA (polylactic acid filament), gold, or platinum, designers can create unique, custom pieces of jewellery at a significantly reduced cost.
